  1. I am elated to discover this group! I am considering moving to Taiwan from the US in Aug. 2009 but was concerned about finding positive social groups and organizations to help ease the culture shock. Knowing there is is an AI group in Taipei is very encouraging! If my move is successful, you will most certainly see me at the meetings!

  2. Good Afternoon,

I hope you have received an email regarding this campaign before but just in case you didn’t, I’m sending you some information regarding Ebrima’s Campaign that we think you could be extremely helpful…
Amnesty International UK is running a campaign for the journalist Ebrima Manneh who was arrested in July 2006 in the Gambia. It is believed he was arrested for attempting to re-print a BBC article that was critical of the government.

Among other activities, Amnesty International UK is asking people from all over the world to take a photo of yourself holding the message ‘Where is Ebrima?’ which we will turn into a photo album to present to the Gambian authorities. We would much appreciate if you could help us in this campaign taking a picture in a special landmark of the Taiwan…

Here you have the case sheet:

and the web pages with extra information:
It would also be great if you could spread the word about this campaign.

No pressure at all – We know everyone has a million things to do! and there is never enough time for everything……

    Many thanks for your help.
